Benicia Glass Studios offer visitors a unique opportunity to visit
three glass studios at one location. Nourot Glass Studio, Smyers Glass
and Zellique Art Glass are individually recognized for their distinctive
style of handblown glass. They are located within walking distance of
each other. Art glass created by artisans at these three studios is
shipped to museums, galleries and fine stores throughout the United
States and internationally. Benicia Glass Studio showrooms display
artist prototypes, discontinued items, and seconds at greatly reduced
prices. Nourot, Smyers, and Zellique showrooms display colorful
goblets, vases, perfume bottles, lamps, paperweights, jewelry, platters,
and sculptural pieces made in the glass studios.

While visiting these unique glass studios the public is invited to
view glassblowers at work. Guests delight in watching the items that
are sold in the showrooms take shape at the end of the artisans
blowpipe. Glassblowing techniques used by the artists at the three
studios are similar to those used centuries ago. Molten glass is drawn
out of the 2000 degree furnaces onto the blowpipe. The master
glassblower manipulates the hot molten glass into the desired shape as
visitors watch.
Group tours are scheduled by special arrangements. Contact Zellique
Art Glass for an appointment. Benicia Glass Studios hosts two Open House
Sales each year on the first weekend in May and December.
